FIND YOUR MUSE

2 minutes read

I had just ashed on my ash tray, I had a blunt in between my left index and middle fingers, I had a glass of the best whiskey you can ever wish for, “Oh my sweet fucking JD”. I swear the vibe was good. I sat there in front of my Mac, looking at the screen, praying to God for some motivation to write. I mean it’s not like i didn’t have material, I did, but the best pieces always came from my heart and I sure wasn’t trying to post something mediocre.

Every artist or creative needs a muse, it can be a person or a thing, a feeling or an emotion. I don’t care what it is, what is certain is that there is something that pushes you to pick up that pen and write, or get on the mic to sing your heart out, or fucking paint your heart out on a palette.

My muse has always been pain, I write my best when the pain is the most severe, I purge the pain out by typing on my keyboard, sometimes the traditional approach of pen to journal is much more therapeutic and boom I am blank again and now I am just typing for vibes. I can literally see the cursor blinking before my very eyes. I think this is a sign that I am losing all my pain, I am healing, I am better, now I guess I need to find a new muse.
